A man and woman are awaiting extradition from Spain after being arrested for drug offences in Kent.

The 47-year-old man and 48-year-old woman were arrested by police from the Serious and Organised Crime Unit who flew over to the Malaga area.

The pair, both from Whitstable, are in custody and are due to appear in court in Madrid over the next few days to face charges of conspiracy to produce and supply a controlled drug.

It's after officers, working closely with the Spanish authorities, acted on information that people wanted in connection with a large-scale cannabis cultivation had fled to Spain.
