A pensioner has been targeted by thieves who stole his bank card while he was using a cash machine in Canterbury city centre.

The 71-year-old man was trying to withdraw money from the ATM at HSBC in Marlowe Arcade when he was distracted by a man who told him it was out of order and had just retained his own card.

When the victim turned around to recover his card, it had gone and he presumed it had been swallowed by the machine.

But the man later discovered it had been stolen and used to withdraw cash at other machines in the city.

Police believe the card was snatched from the machine while the victim was being distracted.

They have now released CCTV images of men they would like to speak to in relation to the alleged theft, which happened on January 7.

Anyone who knows their identities should call PC Mark Simpson on 101, quoting crime reference ZY/819/13.
