A 76-year-old woman was airlifted to hospital after being trampled by a herd of stampeding cattle.
The woman suffered multiple broken bones when she was crushed by 30 cows in a field in Tyler Hill, Canterbury.
She is thought to have lay seriously injured for more than an hour before the alarm was raised when her dogs were spotted running loose.
She was flown by air ambulance to King’s College Hospital in London, where she was placed into an induced coma.
It is thought she had been trying to retrieve a Labrador puppy from the field when she was trampled.
Ambulance spokesman Rich Airey said: "We got the call at 11.20am on Wednesday, September 30, after reports that a woman in her 70s had suffered serious injuries.
"It appears that she had been stampeded by cows.
"We sent an ambulance car and two ambulances. The air ambulance was also in attendance.
"The woman was treated at the scene for head and neck injuries. She was then airlifted to King’s College Hospital in London."
