A person suffered burns and was taken to hospital after a fire ripped through a garage and spread to a bungalow.
Paramedics and fire crews were called at about 4.20pm yesterday after the blaze broke out in Market Way, Canterbury.
Ambulance crews treated one person for burns and smoke inhalation.
Four fire engines were at the scene, and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets and main jets to extinguish the flames, which began to spread to the roof of an adjoining bungalow.
Speaking after the incident, a fire spokesperson said: “Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a garage fire in Market Way, Canterbury.
“One person was handed into the care of SECAmb paramedics with burns and smoke inhalation, and the cause of the fire is not yet known.
“KFRS’ volunteer response team also attended to provide support to residents.”
Crews left the scene at about 6.20pm.
