A person was taken to hospital after a crash closed a busy route.

Emergency services were called to New Dover Road in Canterbury following a two-car collision near the St Lawrence Road junction.

Two patients were treated at the scene following the incident yesterday at about 4.30pm.

A police spokesman said: “We were called to a two-car collision in New Dover Road, near the junction with St Lawrence Road, Canterbury at 4.30pm yesterday.

“Officers attended, along with the ambulance and fire services, and assisted with traffic management and the recovery of the two vehicles.”

An ambulance service spokesman added: “Two patients were assessed and treated at the scene.

“I can confirm at least one patient was taken to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.”
