Pictures show the aftermath of a huge fire that ripped through a home.
Police cordoned off Hackington Road in Tyler Hill, near Canterbury, yesterday as a number of fire engines were called out to tackle the blaze.
The crews were spotted close to Tyler's Kiln pub at about 4.30pm.
Eight fire engines were at the scene at the height of the blaze, but this was reduced throughout the evening and overnight.
A resident said: "Neighbours think the fire started in an outbuilding and spread to a neighbouring property.
"One of the fire engines is parked outside the pub but the fire itself is further down the hill, where there are two or three more engines.
“Police and fire crews have put up roadblocks to stop cars and pedestrians getting near.
"They are using a height vehicle to get on top of the flames.”
The road was cordoned off by police with cars being turned around, but it has since reopened.
A statement this morning by the fire service says the blaze involving a house and a shed is now out.
People living in the area are no longer advised to keep windows and doors closed.
“Crews made good progress and the incident was reduced to three fire engines overnight,” a spokesman said.
“One fire engine was in attendance by the early hours of the morning, with crews damping down remaining hot spots.
“Kent Fire and Rescue Service's volunteer response team attended to provide support to the impacted residents.
“There were no reported injuries, and the cause has not yet been confirmed.”
