A teenage girl was the victim of a serious sexual assault in Herne Bay on New Year’s Eve.

She was sitting in a seafront shelter near the King's Hall when she was approached by a man who attacked her.

He is described as white, in his late twenties, of slim build, with blond hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a black and blue short-sleeved top.

Police are appealing for people who were near the King’s Hall between 9.30pm and 11pm on New Year's Eve to contact them on 01843 222093.
