Police appeal in hunt for sex pest

A MAN is believed to have exposed himself to women on three separate occasions near Kingsmead leisure centre at Canterbury.

Police are seeking information on the indecent exposures, which, in two cases, included an indecent act.

In the first instance on July 16, a 34-year-old woman was walking along a public footpath behind the swimming pool in Kingsmead Road at about 9am when a man exposed himself to her.

The second incident was at around 1.30pm on August 7, when three young women were having lunch on the riverbank close to the bridge in Kingsmead Road. A man exposed himself on the other side of the river and performed an indecent act.

Most recently, at around 2pm on Thursday, a 27-year-old woman was sitting in a playing field behind the leisure centre reading a newspaper when a man approached her. He exposed himself and performed an indecent act.

Police are treating the incidents as linked. The offender is believed to be white and clean-shaven, in his late teens or early twenties with short, fair or light brown hair and was wearing shorts and a rucksack.

He did not make any attempt to physically harm the women on any occasion. Anyone with information regarding the incidents is asked to contact PC Lee Cheesman on 01227 817154.
