Police hunting burglar who raided two homes in Canterbury's Old Dover Road

Police are looking for an unshaven man thought to have burgled two homes in Old Dover Road, Canterbury.

The first took place between 11am and 2pm on Tuesday 13 December when antique gold coins and a silver watch were stolen.

The second happened the same day between 4.22pm and 4.27pm when a man went into the ground floor of a house. He fled when confronted by the occupant.

Witnesses reported seeing a white man with black hair and stubble aged about 26 years old, 5ft 6ins tall, acting suspiciously in the road at the time of both burglaries.

It is thought the offender may have gone through the back of both properties.

Detective Constable Pete Frampton said: "We believe these burglaries are connected and we are keen to hear from anyone who saw anything.

"We would also like to warn residents to be vigilant day or night and to report anything suspicious immediately."
