A police car was damaged on the A2 at Wincheap, Canterbury, this morning after being involved in a crash with a Vauxhall Corsa.

The police Volvo estate was attending to a lorry which was parked across the inside lane and hard shoulder of the London-bound carriageway when the accident happened shortly after 8am.

It was struck by the Corsa, whose driver was taken to hospital complaining of chest pains.

Neither of the two officers in the police car is believed to have been injured.
