Much of central Canterbury was kept up in the early hours of the morning after a police chopper took the sky to hunt for a missing person.
Residents report hearing and seeing the chopper circling over their homes at around 2am shining a powerful light into streets.
Wayne Harris, 31, of Old Watling Street, said: "It was bloody loud. At first I thought it was the emergency gasworks by Aldi, but then I realised the helicopter was in the sky.
"It kept me up for a bit, but I managed to get back to sleep."
Police have said they were looking for a missing person who later found "safe and well".
