Police descended on a high street this morning after concerns were raised for a man.
Witnesses saw at least four patrol cars and a police van parked near the Abode hotel in Canterbury city centre.
Police say they were called to the incident just before 6am today.
A spokesman said: “Kent Police officers attended Canterbury High Street following a report of concern for a man shortly after 6am.
“The man was passed into the care of healthcare professionals.”
A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service added: “I can confirm ambulance crews attended and the man was assessed and treated before being taken to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.”
The large police presence sparked concern on social media, with people speculating on a local residents group about what could have prompted the response.
No further details have been released about the nature of the incident.
