Police hope to trace a man in connection with a broken window at a Canterbury city centre flat.

A panel to a communal door was broken in Langton Flats late on Tuesday, February 15 shortly after a couple tried to gain entry.

A disturbance at 11.30pm in nearby Gravel Walk, Whitefriars shopping centre, saw a man in a grey Adidas hooded top and a woman wearing a leopard print scarf allegedly approach a group of Greek and Turkish people. They shouted abuse at members of the group before following them back to their flat. The couple attempted to gain entry, but were persuaded to go away.

Thirty minutes later, the 6ft by 2ft panel in the front door had been broken. Repairs are estimated at more than £1,000.

Anyone who can help police identify the couple is urged to contact Det Con Lee Goodey on 01843 222273.
