Have you seen this girl?
Police in Newcastle are appealing for help to trace her after she was reported missing in November, and they reckon she could be around Herne Bay.
Hiem Thi Phan, also known as Hiem Thi Pham, is 16 and lived at Cherrywood, Newcastle. She is originally from Vietnam and is believed to have come to the UK in 2009, moving to Kent.
It was while she was living at Beacon Hill, Herne Bay, when she was first reported missing on July 10, 2009. She was tracked by officers to Newcastle in November and arrangements were made for her to return to Kent.
However, by November 25 she was reported missing from an address in the Newcastle area.
She has no known associates in Newcastle and it's believed she could have returned south. Officers have exhausted enquiries in a bid to trace her and although the investigation continues, they are now asking for help from the public to find her.
Police say there is no immediate concern for her welfare, although officers are keen to speak to her to ensure she's safe and well.
Detective Constable Gary Robertshaw, Newcastle Area Command, said: "We've got many lines of enquiry which we are following up but it's likely she is now elsewhere in the country.
"Although we've been working with other forces, it's possible the public might be able to help trace her whereabouts. We need to know that she is safe and well."
Anyone with information about Hiem's whereabouts is asked to contact police on 03456 043 043 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
