Relatives of Canterbury student Daniel O'Connell say he is back safe with his family after being reported missing for more than a week

The alarm was raised after Daniel, 19, went missing in London last month as he prepared to return to the University of Kent to start his second year.

His disappearance was reported to the Metropolitan Police who tweeted an appeal for his safety from its Brent division.

But fears were allayed last Thursday after Daniel was spotted close to his home.

His cousin Richard Roche tweeted: "Sorry for repeating but in case you missed it, my cousin Daniel has been found and is safely back home. Thank you all so much for your RTs."
