Police swoop on untaxed cars

Seven untaxed cars have been removed from the St Stephen’s area of Canterbury this week as part of Kent Police’s Not In My Neighbourhood campaign.

Neighbourhood policing teams and staff from agencies including Canterbury City Council, Kent County Council and the DVLA were involved in the operation.

“We know residents are fed up with not being able to park outside their homes,” said PCSO Gary Painter.

“We worked to remove those cars which were not road legal and were taking up valuable spaces.”

Officers will be continuing vehicle checks in the coming weeks.

The Not In My Neighbourhood campaign encourages people to join with police to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.
