A predator who forced three young girls to take part in sex games has been told he poses a serious threat to children.
Roy Gisby denied 10 sex offences involving the youngsters, but a jury rejected his claims and convicted him.
Now, the 53-year-old, of Surrey Road, Canterbury, has been handed a 16-year extended sentence for the “campaign of sexual abuse”.
One victim – who sat just feet away from Gisby as he was sentenced at Canterbury Crown Court – told a judge in a written statement: "Being abused by Roy Gisby ruined my life.
"It made me turn to drugs and I hate myself for some reason.
“I have trust issues with men. I’m glad I’ve finally been heard."
Another victim revealed she too had struggled to form relationships after his attacks when she was a child, and also had trust issues.
Gisby denied carrying out the attacks including making one of his victims press her body against a window while he leered at her.
Another was forced to watch pornography while the vile pervert carried out a sex act on himself.
The jury found him guilty of sexual assaults and he was given a 14-year immediate jail sentence.
Judge Simon James then added another two years, which Gisby will have to serve on licence when he is finally released.
Emotionless Gisby sat impassive as the judge passed sentence.
He told him: “Your victims were under 11 years old at the time and you subjected them to a protracted campaign of sexual abuse, including taking part in sexualised games for your own gratification.
“The fact you were also abusing alcohol at the time offers you no mitigation whatsoever. Your offending has had, quite understandably, a profound and permanent impact on each of your victims.”
Judge James added that a probation report concluded he still posed a significant risk to children.
“You sexually abused three girls and yet you still steadfastly deny any wrongdoing which is of particular concern, along with your abject lack of remorse or insight into your conduct," he said.
The judge also imposed a sexual harm prevention order to deal with the public concern when he is finally released.
After the hearing, Detective Constable Bradley Shingles said: "Gisby’s victims showed great courage in coming forward and reporting the abuse they had suffered as children.
"Whilst there is no doubt that the emotional damage of what happened will stay with them for the rest of their lives, thanks to their bravery Gisby has been given a substantial prison sentence.
"Kent Police takes all allegations of sexual offences extremely seriously, no matter how long ago they took place. I hope this result reassures anyone suffering in silence to come forward and talk to us.
"Our dedicated team of officers will do everything possible to seek justice."
An NSPCC spokesman added: "This case shows the very real and devastating effects sexual abuse can have on children.
“It leaves victims battling with a toxic cocktail of emotions, even though what happened to them is not their fault.
“Abuse doesn’t have to define a person. With the right help and support survivors can learn to move forward with their lives.
“We hope Gisby’s sentence brings the three girls in this case some form of inner peace.”
