Canterbury men's first team can look forward to returning to the top level of English hockey next season.
They booked their Premier Division berth by finishing second behind group winners Brooklands MU in the second weekend of the Promotion Tournament at Cannock.
Canterbury, who had won their opening group game against Bath 5-3 a fortnight earlier, lost 3-2 to Brooklands MU on Saturday with their goals coming from Nathaniel Joy and skipper Michael Farrer (pictured).
It meant Canterbury, this season's Men's Conference East champions, had to win their third and final match against the University of Exeter on Sunday to go up and they did so in convincing fashion, winning 3-0 thanks to goals from Martin Sutherland (2) and Farrer.
