A purpose built multi-media centre now houses the Gazette offices.
We have moved this week to Gazette House at Boorman Way on the Estuary View Business Park, just outside Whitstable.
From here, we will put together the Kentish Gazette together with its sister papers the Whitstable Gazette, the Herne Bay Gazette and the Canterbury, Whitstable and Herne Bay Extra.
The centre also houses kentishgazette.co.uk and colleagues from our kmfm radio station.
The move represents a massive investment in east Kent and will give the team the right environment to increase their existing audiences and create new ones using newspapers, websites, radio, magazines, text messaging and email alerts.
Businesses will be able to exploit the combined power of newspaper, radio and website advertising.
Geraldine Allinson, chairman of the Kent Messenger Group, said: “It has been very exciting over the past few months seeing our plans become reality – it took us a very long time to find the ideal site for our new offices which are designed to take us well into the digital age.”
Commercial manager Kevin Barry said: “No one is better placed than the Kentish Gazette to offer advertisers a truly multi-media option for promoting their businesses in these difficult times.”
The move also signals a determination to bring readers and listeners the latest news, views, interviews and sport as quickly as we can and in whatever format suits them the most.
Editor Leo Whitlock said: “More than ever we are committed to playing a vital role in the community and my reporters are determined to use the latest technology to enable them to roam the patch and the discover the stories that matter to you.
“With mobile phones and laptop computers, we can further embed ourselves in the areas in which our readers and listeners live.”
