Relief as missing girl, 4, found asleep in hiding place

A four-year-old girl reported missing by her panicked parents was found asleep in a hiding place.

Police were called to a home in Sturry, near Canterbury, after the worried mum and dad could not find their daughter.

Officers arrived and helped search the house, garden and nearby area.

Her mum said on Facebook: "After a 30 mins search we found her, fast asleep and oblivious to what had happened.

"She had found a hiding place and fallen asleep."

She added she and her partner "went through hell and back", and that she was impressed by "how helpful everyone was".

Police confirmed they were called to reports of a missing child at 9.40pm on Sunday.

A spokesman added: "The report was quickly established to be a well-intentioned false alarm and the child was located safe and well within 15 minutes."
