A young man denied murdering teenager Adam Beaney at a Faversham recreation ground when he appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday.

Ricky Mount, 21, of Edward Vinson Drive in the town, will stand trial on January 18 next year. He was remanded in custody.

His 44-year-old mother Maxine Liddle, of Lewis Close, Faversham denied assisting an offender by disposing of a knife and clothing. She was released on conditional bail.

Mount is alleged to have killed former Whitstable Community College pupil Mr Beaney, 19, with a single stab wound on May 30.
