A fallen tree blocked the A291 Canterbury Road in Herne this morning causing problems for motorists.

Kent Highways have warned motorists to approach the area with care after high winds and torrential rain hit the north Kent Coast last night.

The forecast is for more rainfall and high winds in the county today, so drivers have been advised to allow extra time for journeys, with possible delays due to other fallen trees and difficult driving conditions.
