A 19-year-old woman has been taken to hospital following a crash between two cars near Sturry this afternoon.

Part of Calcott Hill between Sturry and Herne was closed while emergency services including fire fighters attend the scene.

They were called at 3.10pm after a black Peugeot and a grey Mini are reported to have collided.

The teenager, who was an occupant in one of the vehicles, has been taken to hospital but her condition is not known.

The road was closed between Hicks Forstal Road and Sweechgate causing traffic tailbacks but recovery services are at the scene to remove the damaged vehicles.
