Emergency services were called to the scene of a crash on a busy route.

The A28 Ashford Road in Chilham, near Canterbury, was closed in both directions this afternoon following the collision.

There were reports of an overturned vehicle but this has not yet been confirmed.

Social media suggests there is a large emergency service presence in the area.

The incident happened between the A252 for Chilham and The Street for Godmersham.

The route has since reopened.
