Drivers can expect delays tonight as a busy road will be closed.

Whitstable Road in Canterbury will be shut for urgent carriageway repairs.

It is planned the road will be closed between the junction with Forty Acres Road and the pedestrian crossing from 8pm until 6am.

The alternative route is via Rough Common Road, Palmers Cross Hill, A2050 Harbledown Bypass, London Road and Whitstable Road.

The environmental weight limit on Rough Common Road and Palmers Cross Hill is suspended to allow for diverted traffic.
