One of the busiest roads in Canterbury is to be closed for repairs to an electricity cable.
Part of Kingsmead Road will be shut from 7pm on Friday, July 4, until midnight on Sunday, July 6, for the work by EDF Energy Networks.
The stretch affected is between Sturry Road roundabout and the Sainsbury's roundabout.
It will remain open for pedestrians.
EDF says the closure is necessary in order for the 11,000 volt underground cable to be repaired safely.
Traffic, including buses, will be diverted down Sturry Road into Vauxhall Road and Broad Oak Road. There will be advance warning notices.
A spokesman for EDF Energy Networks said: "We appreciate that work at this location is likely to cause some inconvenience to the public and we apologise for this."
An 8m by 1m trench will be dug in the path outside Canterbury Yard and a smaller 4m by 1m trench in the pavement opposite to allow contractors to cut out the damaged section of cable and replace it.
Residents and businesses directly affected by the work will be contacted by the company.
