A woman has been flown to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a lorry on a busy dual carriageway in Canterbury.
The main route leading into the city is closed in both directions while police deal with the aftermath of the serious incident.
Four police cars and five ambulances were called to the scene, and the air ambulance landed in the nearby Victoria Recreation Ground.
The collision happened between the London Road and St Peter's roundabouts just before 11am.
The patient, a woman in her 40s, was airlifted to a London hospital for further treatment for serious injuries.
The helicopter was seen taking off at about 12.30pm.
Traffic stretched back along the city ring road and clogging up Wincheap.
Drivers heading out of the city were being diverted to St Peter's Place and through Westgate Towers to St Dunstan's Street.
However, the road reopened in both directions shortly after 1pm.
