Rail services have resumed after a lorry hit a bridge in Canterbury city centre.

The incident has happened at the railway bridge at Wincheap near Canterbury East station, causing severe delays on the city's ring road system.

Lines have now reopened between Faversham and Dover, but delays are expected for a while.

Drivers took to social media to warn other motorists to avoid the area.

The road is now thought to be clear.
