An interior designer impressed presenter and property developer Sarah Beeny in a new programme for Channel 4.
Bethany Rossiter of Mirage Designs redocorated a property in Maidstone and will appear in the first episode of the new series of Double Your House for Half the Money.
The mother-of-two, who works from her home in Herne Common, hopes her work on the show will help kick start her ambition of being a TV presenter.
She got involved after young couple Ben Barratt and Eloise Steale recruited her while she exhibited at Glow in Bluewater.
Channel 4 agreed to have her on board and she spent three months working on the house with her team, with the results aired on Tuesday at 8pm.
Mrs Rossiter, 43, of Aspen Road, said: “We worked day and night on this project to get it done.
“I’ve always wanted my own TV show so this is the first step.
“I’m very proactive with the business. I auditoned for a show 18 months ago and got down to the last four people.
“You have got to put it out there haven’t you? There is still a gap in the market on TV and a lot of people are looking for style on a budget.
“I know how to make them look good without using up all their money.”
Mrs Rossiter already on the Grand Designs show every year and has been a senior consultant on Channel 5 show House Doctors.
She enjoyed chatting to Sarah Beeny, who visited the house about four times during filming.
She said: “She’s lovely and very down to earth. We talked about the challenges of being a working mum.
“She was delighted with the colour mix but she literally comes down for half a day. She only visited three or four times.”
