INSPIRED by the success of the film Calendar Girls, staff at Anglian Windows in Canterbury have "stripped off" in memory of a close friend.
They have bared all in a calendar to raise money for a memorial bench for a former work colleague, Yusuf Ziya, who died of a heart attack aged 37.
Sarah Rollands, who came up with the idea with her mother Jean, said: "Ziya was my best friend. It was such a shock when he died. He was a real character."
The calendars, which show staff with strategically placed props to protect their modesty, are being sold for £10 each. Canterbury City Council has agreed to a memorial bench in the Westgate Gardens if a total of £750 is raised.
Miss Rollands added: "We wanted to do something to remember him by. He used to live near those gardens and go there quite often. We are all really good friends here so it was quite a giggle doing the calendar."
Anyone wishing to buy a calendar and contribute to the fund for the bench should contact Miss Rollands on 07745943035 or Jean Rollands on 01227 451450.
