A board member at Shepherd Neame has resigned following the reorganisation of the business into two trading arms.

Production and distribution director Tom Falcon left his role at the Faversham-based brewer in December.

The move is a result of the company splitting into two trading divisions, Brewing and Brands and Retail and Tenanted Pubs, announced in July.

Mr Falcon was appointed to the board in July 2008, having worked as a director of strategy at transportation business Maersk Company.

From this month, former sales and marketing director Graeme Craig becomes director of brewing and brands.

Retail director Nigel Bunting will become director of retail and tenanted operations from July.

Shepherd Neame chairman Miles Templeman said: “I would like to thank Tom for his significant contribution to the board.

“This reorganisation is a significant change for the business and was decided upon after very careful consideration of our options.

“Tom is an exceptional individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the company since joining in 2008 and will no doubt make a great success of his next role.”

After company secretary Fran Lester’s retirement at the end of November, former head of HR Robin Duncan has taken up the role, which will be combined with his previous duties.

Mr Templeman added: “I would also like to thank Fran for her service to the company and for her advice and guidance. I wish her well in retirement.

“We welcome Robin into the role of company secretary and look forward to working with him in this new capacity.”
