Witnesses are being sought today after a lorry driver was killed when he hit a bridge over the A2 near Canterbury.
The man, driving a Polish-registered red Renault lorry, died at the scene on the London-bound carriageway near Bishopsbourne yesterday afternoon.
Kent Police said the lorry hit a bridge over the dual carriageway at about 1.35pm.
A witness said the truck, which was carrying potatoes, had been split in two.
The crash caused long delays for motorists, with a section of the A2 closed for more than 10 hours.
The coast-bound carriageway was shut because of debris in the road until 6.15pm.
But the London-bound side of the road stayed closed until just after midnight so emergency services and crash investigators could work at the scene.
The load of potatoes shed from the truck then had to be removed and repairs made to the crash barrier between Bridge and Barham.
Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to phone PC Rob Malins, from the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit, on 01622 798538.
