A smashed-up car has been left on top of a roundabout for at least two weeks.
The abandoned green Citroen is covered in police tape on the roundabout in Island Road, Hersden, near Canterbury.
It has been there since at least October 5.
The front of the small car is badly dented, as it rests against a sign, and seems to have damaged another sign and some shrubbery on its way up there.
Police did not attend the crash, but confirmed that a passing patrol unit added the tape.
Local authorities have a responsibility to remove abandoned vehicles from roads and “land in the open air” according to the government’s website.
Factors which determine whether a vehicle is abandoned include if it’s stationary for a significant amount of time and if it’s significantly damaged, run down or unroadworthy – for example, has flat tyres, missing wheels or broken windows.
Police are responsible for removing cars if they are blocking the carriageway.
Police and Canterbury City Council have been contacted for comment.
