A WOMAN of 75 kicked a man in the groin when he attempted to snatch her handbag in the street.
Police say the attempted robbery happened near the Kings School entrance in Palace Street, Canterbury.
The pensioner was walking along the road when she was grabbed from behind by her attacker and pushed.
The mugger began trying to pull the woman's handbag off her shoulder at which point she told him to leave her alone.
A police spokesman said: "She then kicked the man in the groin, causing him to let go of bag. The man and a second man then ran off toward Northgate, empty-handed.
One of the men is described as white, aged between 30 and 35, about 6ft 2in tall, of thin build. He was wearing a navy blue knitted hat with dirty white letter on the front and a dirty blue tracksuit.
The other man was described as 6ft 2in tall, of thin build, with short black hair and unshaven. He was wearing a tatty looking jacket.
