St John Day Of Reconciliation and concert, Wednesday, September 24

A DAY of reconciliation culminating with a special concert will be held in Canterbury Cathedral and its precincts.

The St John Day of Reconciliation and special concert by the contemporary music group Sounds New will take place on Wednesday, September 24.

Money raised from the event will go to support the worldwide work of St John Ambulance.

The day will consist of a number of workshops and talks and there will also be a film about St John’s work.

The Sounds New Concert of Reconciliation will include the world premiere of Supernatural Songs by Sir John Taverner who will be present for the occasion.

The programme will also feature music by Samuel Barber, Elgar, Mozart and Tippett played by the Britten Sinfonia conducted by Nicholas Cleobury.

The event is being organised by Kent Messenger Group chairman Edwin Boorman and sponsored by Canterbury Cathedral and the Kent Messenger Group.
