A man said to have "persistently" harassed a woman he knew has been charged with stalking.

Arthur Walkowiak, of Kent Road, Margate, allegedly left threatening voicemails for the woman on multiple occasions, along with confronting her in person.

The incidents, which took place in Canterbury, were reported to police in March, sparking an investigation by the city's Vulnerability Investigation Team.

Walkowiak was arrested on Wednesday, and has since been charged with stalking.

The 37-year-old appeared before Folkestone Magistrates' Court yesterday, and was bailed to appear before the same court on Wednesday, July 27.
