A Strictly Come Dancing star is set to join the cast of Kent's biggest pantomime, it has been revealed.
Bosses from the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury have announced that Joanne Clifton will play the role of Fairy Sugarsnap in an adaptation of Jack and the Beanstalk over the festive season.
The 37-year-old joined Strictly as a professional dancer in 2014, performing with McFly's Harry Judd and winning the competition with Ore Oduba during her two-year stint on the BBC show.
Since then, she had starring roles in the Rocky Horror Show and Flashdance during their UK tours.
"I jumped for joy when I got the role of Fairy in Jack And The Beanstalk," Ms Clifton said.
"Panto is magical. It’s for the whole family, everyone gets involved.
"I cannot think of a better way to spend my Christmas.”
The dancer will be joining Blue band member Duncan James, who will play Jack, in the production.
The pantomime will open at the Marlowe on November 26, and continue to run at the city venue until January 9.
