Students are fighting plans by Kent University to withdraw their parking permits.

They fear if the scheme goes ahead in September, they will be forced to scour local streets already crammed with cars for for parking places, increasing tension with residents.

The university says it needs the Parkwood village car park to build new student accommodation and it wants to promote greener transport.

Kent Union has organised a petition in a bid to stop or delay the changes.
