Detectives are appealing for information following a suspicious blaze at a beach hut off Whitstable's Tankerton slopes.

The fire was discovered at about 11am on Wednesday June 8, on the beach off Marine Parade near the junction with Pier Avenue.

Damage was caused to the veranda, doors and shutters of the hut, and to personal belongings stored inside.
