A teenager who chased a security guard with a garden saw at a train station has been jailed.
The teen, who is now 18, threatened the officer at Canterbury East Station after an altercation over a ticket last November.
When confronted, he pulled out the weapon and chased the officer who feared for his life.
A month later, he returned to the station in an attempt to travel again.
But staff called the British Transport Police who sent two units to search the area.
The suspect was found on a bike in nearby Canterbury high street by police.
He was then arrested after being found in possession of two more knifes.
Officers then searched the teen's home in Canterbury where they found the clothes and knife used in the original offence, along with several other weapons.
At a hearing at Canterbury Crown Court, the 18-year-old was sentenced on three counts to serve time at a young offenders institution.
Two were for possession of a bladed article for which he was sentenced to 12-months and six months.
The third was for threatening a person with an offensive weapon for which he was sentenced to six months.
All sentences will be served concurrently.
A spokesman for BTP said: "The sentence reflects the seriousness of the offences he committed."
