Canterbury boys arrested after attack near bus station

A teenage boy was attacked in a city centre by a gang of four youths while out with a friend.

Police were called to the scene in St George's Street, Canterbury, at about 6.20pm yesterday.

Officers were told that the victim was with a friend when they were approached by the gang prior to the assault.

Four boys - aged between 13 and 15 - from Canterbury were arrested in connection with the incident.

A police spokesman said: "They have been released on bail while enquiries are ongoing."

Anyone who witnessed the attack or has information about it, is being urged to call detectives on 01843 222289, quoting the reference number 46/22725/21.
