University staff are supporting the housemates of a student after he was found dead on campus.
Police were called to halls of residence at the University of Kent in Canterbury at about 6.30pm yesterday evening following the death of a man in his late teens.
A university spokesman said: "We can confirm the death of a student at our Canterbury campus.
"Kent Police attended the scene and next of kin are being informed.
"We are offering support to the student’s housemates, fellow students and staff.
"Our thoughts and deepest sympathy are with the student’s family at this difficult time."
Police, ambulance crews and forensics officers were spotted at the scene.
A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at around 6.30pm on Thursday 7 March 2019 to residential accommodation on the University of Kent campus, Canterbury, following a report a person had died.
"Officers and the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where a man was confirmed dead.
"Next of kin are aware and a report will now be prepared for the coroner."
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
