Teenager taken to hospital after crash

A teenager has been taken to hospital after his motorbike crashed into traffic lights.

The 19-year-old came off his bike at the junction of Ten Perch Road and Wincheap in Canterbury.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 12.33am this morning and the rider was taken to the William Harvey Hospital to be checked over.

He was due to be released at some point today.

The traffic lights were not working this morning as a result of the incident, which resulted in major tailbacks for motorists in the morning rush hour.
