Second World War medals and cash swiped from Canterbury home

A heartless thief has swiped war medals and cash from a village home.

Detectives have launched an investigation into a burglary which happened in Sturry, near Canterbury, between 6.45pm yesterday and 12.30am today.

A door in the Hoades Wood Road property was damaged and a blue box containing six war medals from the Second World War and collectors coins was taken, as well as money.

A police spokesman said: "Officers are investigating the burglary and are appealing for anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious yesterday evening, or has been offered the the medals for sale, to come forward."

They are also appealing for anyone with private CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage which might assist enquiries.
