Three fire crews attended to a bull stuck in mud, with the rescue operation taking three hours.
The teams were called after the animal became lodged in the River Stour in Canterbury shortly after 7.30am.
Lines and mud paths - portable rescue platforms used by the crews on unstable ground - were used to secure the animal, before it could be winched out by the Animal Rescue Unit, based at Faversham.
The bull was fully freed by 10.45am.
