Hundreds of farmers lined the streets in their tractors in protest this afternoon.
Fairness for Farmers led the rally in Canterbury to demonstrate against cheap imports and unfair treatment of British farmers.
More than 200 tractors took part in the action, which ended at about 3pm.
Around 25 tractors could be seen parked up in the Wincheap area – a key route in and out of the city.
The protest started at the top of Bridge Hill and the Wincheap Industrial Estate at about 11.30am and processions of vehicles could be seen across the city.
The demonstration, which also blockaded the city’s ring road, ended at the Wincheap roundabout.
Police were called to manage traffic at the roundabout by the Curzon cinema on the Riverside leisure park in Kingsmead.
Passers-by sounded their horns in support of the farmers.
On Friday, February 23, about 20 tractors invaded an Asda car park in Ashford, with two other protests held last month, in Dover.
The demonstrations come as Europe’s farmers ramp up protests against EU measures and rising prices.
Farmers on the continent say they have faced heavy regulation, powerful and domineering retailers, debt, climate change and cheap imports.
While most protests have been in France, similar action has been taking place in a host of countries including Italy, Spain, Romania, Poland, Greece, Germany, Portugal and the Netherlands.
