KENT Police have appealed for witnesses after a man died when his car careered into a telegraph pole.

The accident happened shortly before midnight on Saturday on the A290 Blean to Whitstable road near Canterbury.

No other vehicle was involved in the tragedy. Anyone with information is asked to telephone police on 01227 762055.

The victim has not yet been named. An inquest will be held.
