A trail of “splattered blood” left covering several vehicles has baffled village residents.
Cars and vans parked in Staple Road, Wingham, were found showered with what appears to be bodily fluid on Sunday leaving the owners concerned.
Jane Theoff and her husband were one couple to have been affected and say they were shocked when they saw it.
Mrs Theoff said the location of the apparent blood was too high on the vehicle to have been from an animal and three days later, she still does not know what it was.
“My husband saw it first when he went out to his van on Sunday morning,” she said.
“He was shocked to see what looked like blood.
“We thought we better report it just in case but the police said there were no reports of any incidents locally.”
The Staple Road resident added there were about five other vehicles along the stretch which also had the marks on.
“Then we saw a few other cars along the road had the same,” she said.
“It came off with the jet wash but I still don’t know what it was.
“I just thought it was really strange.”
A police spokesperson confirmed officers were made aware of what looked like blood on a van in the street but no criminal offences were reported or identified.
