The life of comedian Dave Lee will be celebrated in a special show at The Marlowe Theatre in May.
'Dave Lee – A Celebration' will star a host of his showbusiness friends and will be produced and directed by Paul Hendy, who puts on the Marlowe pantomimes.
Paul said: "The show will be a fitting tribute to Dave’s wonderful career, reflecting the many different aspects of it - including music, stand-up comedy and, of course, pantomime.
"Lots of his pals have said they’d love to take part. It’s going to be a great evening and one that Dave would have been proud of."
The show is at 7pm on Sunday, May 6. All money raised will go to Dave’s Happy Holidays charity. Tickets are £35 and will go on sale on Friday, February 24.
The box office at the Marlowe Theatre will be open from 9am for customers wishing to book in person or by phone on 01227 787787. There will be no online bookings.
Dave, who died last month, will be remembered for his 16 years of pantomime performances at the Marlowe and also for his annual, one-night comedy shows. These always proved so popular that fans would camp out the night before at the theatre, determined not to miss out on tickets. Dave would turn up to provide bacon butties, hot drinks and, of course, a joke or two.
