Canterbury Hockey Club men resume their Premier Division relegation battle on Saturday with a re-arranged home game against Hampstead & Westminster.
The match will be played under floodlights at Polo Farm (4pm) and skipper Matt Harper says his side are eager to get back into action after the long winter break.
Canterbury’s last league game was their 4-0 home defeat to Loughborough Students on November 20 which left them rooted to the bottom of the table, and Harper said: "We know we have got to start putting points on the board quickly if we want to avoid relegation but everybody has been training hard and we are raring to go."
Harper (pictured) himself has fully recovered from the broken rib he sustained before Christmas which means Canterbury have a full squad available this weekend.
They have also been boosted by the return of midfielder Mickel Pierre.
The Trinidad & Tobago international, who played all last season for Canterbury, has been unavailable so far this campaign because of his Army commitments but is now able to commit to the relegation battle.
